One of the most conspicuous project in Cairns, the New Tourist Attraction – Cairns Aquarium.

The new Cairns Aquarium is set to become Cairns largest and newest attraction in one of the World’s most beautiful and sought after travel destinations. It will provide a world class venue for seeing and interacting with the incredible plants, animals, and habitats found only in Australia’s Wet Tropics, a region which borders two World Heritage listed environments: The Daintree Rainforest and The Great Barrier Reef.

There are many interesting shows and tours such as animal encounters where visitors can gain a better appreciation for what animals feel like to hold; behind the scene tour to know how the Aquarium works and even an unforgettable overnight experience – Sleep with the sharks!

It’s a good place to spend a day for fun but you will have a chance to learn as well! The Cairns Aquarium offers a 3 day course designed to instil confidence and build public speaking skills in teenagers and adults by letting them convey their new found knowledge of the Wet Tropics through interaction with Cairns Aquarium visitors. Receive a certificate of completion and become a Cairns Aquarium “Young Educator” for the day.

Cairns Aquarium will open in April 2017. Therefore, when you make your plan to the Great Barrier Reef for scuba diving, Visit Kuranda to see the most famous Kuranda village, Paronella Park Day and Night Tour to see the stunning view of Spanish castles and waterfalls, Port Douglas to enjoy the breathtaking coastal scene, be sure you save a day for the new attraction while you are in Cairns!
